This summer, Dow AgroSciences invites retailers, growers and seed dealers to attend its 2015 Diamond Showcases for a local, field-based tour of the broad Dow AgroSciences crop protection portfolio and seeds business. Located throughout the Midwest and South, the Diamond Showcases offer you a chance to interact with and learn from our sales representatives and our technical experts on the latest technologies in crop protection, seeds and traits.
For more information on dates and locations, contact your local retail dealer, Dow AgroSciences sales representative or field specialist. Below is a sampling of the products that will be featured this year.
Enlist™ Weed Control System
With tolerance to a new 2,4-D and glyphosate, the Enlist™ Weed Control System advances herbicide and trait technology. Diamond Showcase attendees will gain an understanding of the benefits growers receive with Enlist Duo™ herbicide with Colex-D™ Technology, including near-zero volatility, minimized potential for physical drift, low odor and improved handling characteristics. Attendees will receive practical information needed to incorporate the Enlist system in customers’ operations for the future, including application scenarios and tank cleanout procedures.
Dow AgroSciences has a leading portfolio of crop protection tools, including SureStart® II herbicide, to control weeds in corn. In addition to seeing SureStart II in action, Diamond Showcase attendees will get a glimpse of GF-3471, a new corn herbicide from Dow AgroSciences. GF-3471 will provide trusted residual control of tough weeds deep into the growing season. Registration for this herbicide is expected in 2016.
Diamond Showcase attendees can see how Dow AgroSciences’ soybean herbicides help growers keep fields clean throughout the growing season. With proven performance on difficult-to-control and herbicide-resistant weeds, growers depend on Sonic® and Surveil® herbicides for clean fields, an easy harvest and increased soybean yield potential.
Instinct® II and N-Serve® nitrogen stabilizers work at the root zone of corn and wheat crops to reduce leaching of nitrogen into groundwater and denitrification into the atmosphere, keeping nitrogen in the soil longer for crops to use when they need it. Diamond Showcase attendees will see the advantages of using Instinct II with urea, UAN and manure and N-Serve with anhydrous ammonia.
The insecticide plots at this year’s Diamond Showcases will demonstrate the effectiveness of the Dow AgroSciences’ insecticide lineup and highlight the benefits associated with each product. As the newest addition to the Dow AgroSciences insecticide portfolio, Transform® WG insecticide offers a distinctive new class of chemistry with a unique mode of action that provides superior control of sap-feeding insects, including soybean aphids. Transform also provides fast knockdown and residual control and is the insecticide growers need to help protect their soybeans and increase yield potential.
Another offering from Dow AgroSciences is Cobalt® Advanced insecticide, which uses two powerful modes of action to eliminate multiple insect species across a variety of crops, including soybeans, corn, alfalfa, sorghum, sunflower and wheat.
Top-performing Mycogen® brand corn hybrids and soybean varieties will be on display at this year’s Diamond Showcase plots. Attendees will get an in-depth look at the products best-suited for their local geography and industry-leading trait offerings, including the Enlist Weed Control System. Agronomists also will be on hand to share tips for local agronomic challenges growers are facing, such as managing sudden death syndrome or Goss’s wilt.
